These are activities suggested, planned, and coordinated by MFA for families and individuals to participate in if they wish. The choice of activities will depend on the location - coastal, mountainous, lakeside, riverside, or valley.
The activities include:
Night Walks | Hiking | Campfires | Waterfall Treks | Indoor Games/Sports | Outdoor Games/Sports | Archery | Dark Skies Stargazing | Wild Swimming | Paddling | Village Strolls | Lake Treks | Mountain Treks | Bodyboarding | Morning Fitness/Yoga | Bushcrafting | Communal Praying | Storytelling | Communal Cooking | Communal Eating | Cave Exploration | Picnic | River Treks | Forest Trails | Rock Pooling | Cycling | Mountain Biking | BBQ | Coastal Cliff Treks | Sea Bathing | Blindfold Trail | Breathwork/Mindfulness Workshop | Wildlife Exploration | Nature Walks | Orienteering | Crab Hunting | Beach Games/Sports | Heritage Trails | Creative Workshops | Team Building | Hill Walking | Archeology Trails | Shelter Building | Leisure Camping
These are activities suggested, planned and coordinated by MFA but are run and managed by professional/licensed 3rd-party activity providers, as they require equipment, tuition and/or training. They are run as half-day sessions (up to 3 hours), exclusively arranged for MFA, and priced around £20-£45 per activity, with a good group discount. Generally, there will be 2-3 of these optional activities in each adventure trip. Although these activities may cost a little extra, the reason for including them in the adventure is to give participants the opportunity to do something challenging as a group, and to make them go out of their comfort zones to learn, grow and discover themselves.
The activities include:
Rock Climbing | Caving | Canoeing | Lake/Sea Kayaking | Surfing | Coasteering | Ghyll Scrambling | Stand-Up-Paddleboarding (SUP) | Deep Sea Fishing | Horse-Riding | Abseiling | Rowing | Snorkelling | High Ropes | Boating | Mountain Biking | Sailing | Sea Cliff Climbing
MFA would like the adventurers to join the general and instructor-led adventure activities as much as possible, as it is more fun to do them as a group. However, we understand it is not always possible to join due to the family set up; logistics and the interests of the family members. Some may want to do their own thing, either by themselves or with friends who have joined the adventure. This is perfectly fine, as all of the MFA activities are suggestions and recommendations. Families and individuals will have the flexibility to choose what they would like to do to suit their needs.
Here are some examples of self-led activities:
River Cruises | Self-Drive Boat Ride | Heritage Railway Rides | Museum Visits | Guided Boat Trips | Sightseeing Road Trips | Mine Tours | Town/City Tours | Local Walks | Historic Monuments Visits | Park Visits | Farm Visits | Viewpoint Tours
